How does Jesus teach us to go deeper in our asking when we pray?

In Matthew 7 v 7, Jesus tells us to ask, then to seek, and to knock. there is a progression here. If I ask and there is no answer, I seek, and then I knock. John 15 v 7. ” If you abide in Me and My word abide in you…” it is a relationship . Learn to know Him more, enjoy His company, His word.

He models praying for both the small things and the big things.

Jesus taught us to pray in order from honoring God as our loving heavenly father to our personal needs.

I do know prayer is about relationship. Jesus gives us a template, things to focus on or acknowledge. I believe our prayers will change as our relationship with God grows.

He shows us in Matthew 6:9-13. First we acknowledge and show that we honor Him as holy even though we know He is. Wanting His way in all things and asking Him to help us want what He wants for us shows our submission to Him and trusting that He knows what’s best for us. Even though He knows our needs, he still wants to hear them.
