Jesus’ outline of prayer emphasizes the point that prayer has nothing to do with our needs and everything to do with remaining faithful to God. Of the six points discussed by Jesus, only one truly has to do with our desires; Beyond that, all the other elements of the Lord’s Prayer focus on aligning our hearts with God in praise, thinking through His desires, requesting strength to do His will, and forgiving us for our failures to honor Him, while requesting the ability to not fall into temptation into the future.

First we seek His Kingdom. He teaches us to abide in Him and we then will see him. So seeking his Kingdom, his righteousness but getting to know him teaches us to experience him which helps us to know him and so to pray within this knowledge.

I think that Jesus teaches us to give God all of our asks. He wants us to have a deep relationship and to be able to go to him with every groaning.

Our prayers should not be only give me but must be a prayer of thanksgiving and honor to God and wanting to develop a more personal relationship with Him. God wants to spend time with us and by our praying we are establishing a relationship of gratefulness and understanding of what God wants from us.

The way is to place the focus on the Kingdom and get the focus of of self. When we ask it should be according to what God has revealed to us in scripture. Whatever that we ask for we must approach God in humility and walk in the path of forgiveness of others.
