He tells us that we are not to use repetitive language but instead use the Lord’s Prayer and to do it from the Heart.

To come to Him, to get to know Him — broadly — as in Jesus’ model prayer, focusing on God first. Seeking God’s glory and Kingdom, and one’s part in that. Deeper, as little children — child like hearts of faith — asking, seeking, and knocking. Big, no matter how small: our Father welcomes us with open arms, to experience union with him through the privilege of prayer.

He wants us to ask and to not be afraid to for for big things and have the faith of a child that your prayers will be answered.

Jesus wants us to pray to be with God, to know Him and hear from Him. To pray God’s heart not just for our needs. To pray for the things of God and for others beyond our personal concerns and needs.

He gives us assurance that the Father gives when we ask. He teaches us to focus on God first – in acknowledging His greatness, in desiring that He be honored, in desiring His kingdom to come and His will to be done. He teaches us how to pray for provision (daily bread), forgiveness, and protection (from temptation).
