Jesus gives us a structure to come into the presence of God by properly addressing Him with the honor He deservers. Then ask him to meet our needs and guide us each day.

Jesus tells us to seek, to knock, and we will find. We don’t give up. He told the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18 : when we have real needs and not selfish desires, we continue to seek God’s face. If we follow the template of the Lord’s Prayer, we will pray in the will of God. We acknowledge who He is, desire the realization of His kingdom and His will above all. And we ask to cover our needs recognizing our weaknesses and requesting His help. It’s turning to God in complete dependence and adoration.

Jesus wants us not worry about our lives because we have our father who hears us when we come to him in humility and let our needs known to him in prayer. He wants us to have faith in God alone and remove doubt in our hearts.

He sets the example. His words show us that the Father listens and cares to hear us
