We are told we can ask for our needs but since we have limited time on this earth before we go to heaven, we should pray for God’s will to be done in our lives and do whatever we can to help further His kingdom.

He gave us the Lord’s prayer–in it is the Lord’s sovereignty, love, trust, mercy, forgiveness, protection, and deliverance. The Lord is reaching out to us telling us He is approachable.

By giving us the Lord prayer as a blueprint, we can learn what is important to God and it helps us to understand how to pray in His will.
