How does Jesus teach us to go deeper in our asking when we pray?

Jesus showed us how to pray by giving us the Lord’s Prayer. But he says we must remain in Him and let His words remain in us, then we can ask whatever we wish and it will be done. Remaining in Him is the difficult part because of daily life, because we are sinful by nature. We think small and in an earthly way. But the kingdom of God is bigger than we can imagine and God is all powerful and all loving. Praise God.

We tend to pray for ourselves or others, but we also need to pray about God’s holiness, his kingdom and his will for our lives. We need to focus on heavenly things and not just jump right into how God can help us and do for us.

He tells us that we are not to use repetitive language but instead use the Lord’s Prayer and to do it from the Heart.

To come to Him, to get to know Him — broadly — as in Jesus’ model prayer, focusing on God first. Seeking God’s glory and Kingdom, and one’s part in that. Deeper, as little children — child like hearts of faith — asking, seeking, and knocking. Big, no matter how small: our Father welcomes us with open arms, to experience union with him through the privilege of prayer.

He wants us to ask and to not be afraid to for for big things and have the faith of a child that your prayers will be answered.
