Jesus teaches us to go deeper into our asking when we pray by giving us the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6: 9-13.
The prayer teaches us to focus on God first in our prayers, then follow by asking for our needs. -
By putting God first in our prayers and by realizing that we are His children who depend on Him just as our children depend on us.

Jesus teaches us to go deeper in our asking when we pray by showing us how to ask. We must first acknowledge the things of God and then focus on our needs. We reverence His holy name and His will and then focus on our need and dependence for Him.

There is a difference in just reciting words and coming to the Lord sincerely from the heart. We go deeper when we go into our prayer closets, (separate ourselves) and have an impactful one on one time with the Lord in prayer. It’s understanding the relationship we have with Him and how precious it is. It’s coming to Him in reverence but also with confidence because He is our Heavenly Father and He wants the best for His children. As we approach Him we remember that His way is what matters the most. We are tuned into Him, His glory, His majesty, His greatness and that His will be done in us and through us. Then we make our requests, ask for forgiveness and understand that it is only in His strength that this can be done. We seek first the Kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto it.

By praying by the six guidelines of ‘The Lord’s Prayer’.
The first three focus on God, and the second three focus on our needs.
