How does Jesus teach us to go deeper in our asking when we pray?

Our God loves us so much that He gave the Laws to guide men in living righteously. After they failed to do so, He sent His only son to die for our sins as we were unable to live righteously. He allowed us to speak with Him directly through prayer and even told us how to pray. My God, my God, we give you all the glory for loving us so!

Raised in a catholic home I always knew the Lord’s Prayer by heart. It it took me until now to understand that it is not just some verses to recite, but a first-class guide to deep prayer.

This prayer can be said verbatim and I’ve said it for years. But when we break it down, we realize the big picture and see how relational this prayer is. And that is the amazing part, that our Father in Heaven who is the Creator of all – models how we can commune with Him – powerful indeed!

It tells us to dig into what is important. Jesus does this by using an open focused prayer. There are no real specifics mentioned but there is an outline to show how to start, where to focus and how to end a prayer effectively.
