Knowing removes any doubts, fears or limitations that we may have placed in the past concerning prayer. It enables us to come boldly before the throne of grace, sit at the feet of Jesus then depending on the circumstances seek His face or seek His hand.

Similar to when our children know that they are dependent on their parents.

The biblical instruction concerning prayer is that we pray for the good things that we genuinely need, according to the will of God, in the authority of Jesus Christ, persistently (see Luke 18:1), unselfishly (see James 4:3), and in faith (see James 1:6). Knowing that God wants us to ask, we should be more ready to pray within His will, in the authority of Jesus, persistently, unselfishly, and in faith. By praying so, we will receive what we need according to His will. “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, he hears us” (1 John 5:14-15).

It is reassuring when you are relatively new to Christianity to know that God wants us to communicate with him through prayer – it makes us comfortable and able to make a great relationship with Gid.
