How does knowing that God wants us to ask help us when we come to Him?

Because we know the prayers will be answered in his timing. We know he wants a relationship with us

I serve a generous and loving God who wants to be my provider, comforter, and friend. He wants me to let Him fill my needs instead of trying to do it myself.

We know that He will hear us and we can come to Him with anything. Nothing is too small or big for Him.

If the point of my life is to glorify God, and God did not want me to come to Him with anything beyond what glorifies Him, then I think I would be weighed down with an immense guilt anytime I desired something to be different, changed, or removed in my life. I think in order to have authentic relationship with God it necessary to understand that God truly wants us to come to Him without any concern of Him turning us away. We are God’s children, and just as I like to hear my son express his frustrations, because it gives me the opportunity to teach him, I think God is the same way; I want my son to speak to me so that I can continue to build the relationship and lead him down the right paths. I think God wants us to hear it all; God wants us to know that we can trust Him fully, and that He delights in our confidence in Him.

I think that knowing our Father wants us to ask lets us not feel shy or unworthy of giving Him all our needs. He is for us.
