Where I live and worship God, evangelism is number one. We as a church body try are best to share the message of Jesus. This produces many encounters with Jesus because we are disciple makers.

I live in Asia. The religious-political history of Europe, particularly the expansion of Christianity and its intertwining with colonialism, has significantly influenced the kinds of Christianity present in Asia.

    a) In regions like Goa (India) and parts of Southeast Asia, Portuguese colonialism brought Roman Catholicism. They established churches and educational institutions, many of which remain influential.

    b) In the Philippines, Spanish colonization led to a profound and lasting influence of Roman Catholicism, which remains the dominant religion.

    c) In Indonesia, Dutch colonization introduced Protestantism, particularly the Dutch Reformed Church, alongside existing Islamic influences.

    d) British colonialism brought Anglicanism and other Protestant denominations to India, Malaysia, and other parts of Asia.

    e) In Vietnam and Laos, French colonialism introduced Roman Catholicism, which still has a significant presence.

In my country, the influence of British colonialism on Christianity is still evident. They introduced Anglicanism and other Protestant denominations. Roman Catholic churches, popular among the indigenous group, also exist. More recently, Korean missionaries have made inroads into rural areas, helping in the construction of churches. This reflects the ongoing evolution of Christianity in my country.

In the world I live in today, many followers of Christ have moved into other worships such as Buddhism and Islamic religion. In America the church is totally separate from the state and the one has absolutely nothing to do with the other. Americans are free to worship as they please and for the most part they do. The entire world is being led by modern technology and its popularity has corrupted the minds of many. Fashion, fame, and wealth are all of the more desirable ways of the world. Churches are indicators of status not worship. More people are in attendance at church for the sake of bragging about what they have and who they are. It is becoming harder for church leaders to lead in righteousness because materialism is the greatest motivator today.

    1. I am virtually surrounded by several denominations of the Christian church. Even within the denominations themselves, there are fractures which are currently taking place. The religious-political history, I have just had the opportunity to study, does provide me with insight. However, I believe we must concentrate on our commonalities, not on our differences. Let’s not lose sight of the tenents of our faith. This is what unifies Christians, no matter what their denominational beliefs may be.
