My biblical worldview is what keeps me focused on the whole student. It gives me perspective that the student is not just in course to learn some information or new mathematic fact but to develop into whole person.

It influences me to learn more about the scripture and keep learning. It also influences me to share the scripture with the students so they can have a better worldview.

As a Christian educator, I use the teachings from the bible to frame all that we talk about. Further, I practice biblical teachings in my everyday life, as a person – that shines through as an educator in a classroom.

It influences my role to not focus solely on academics, but rather educating each child as a whole. The end goal is to be the hands and feet of Jesus and share with each student about Jesus, and academics (while extremely important) pales in comparison.

My role is to teach my courses, to teach apologetics, support students in their faith, challenge them to raise their bar in their walk with Christ, and through this all it should always be engaging and fun. Learning is an adventure, preparation for spiritual battle, preparation for life/career, and an integral part of learning are the light bulb moments. ‘Light bulb’ moments never get old and helping the students achieve those is such a blessing. Knowing that this is a calling, not a career, and that part of that calling is pursuing my spiritual and personal growth, and to grow my skills to serve is both challenging and rewarding. There is greater accountability (James 3:1), but the rewards and blessing could not be greater.
