My biblical worldview influences my role as a Christian educator in that I see my students as eternal beings and hold fast to the hope that Jesus is working out their salvation. I will likely never know the difference that I am able to make, or what might be remembered by my students even years later. The fact that I am part of a broader plan in God’s history feels significant to me, and I feel determined to keep that at the forefront of my mind in daily interactions.

I came from working in a public school where talking about Christianity was discouraged. I am now working in a Christian School and am learning to continue to bring that into my classroom. I will admit that it felt strange, but refreshing when I began to bring it into my classroom. I hope to learn and grow so that I can continue to find meaningful ways to share this with students.

There is no compartmentalizing my relationship with Jesus; He is in all I do wherever I am.

I understand that being an educator is a ministry in my life. This is not a 9 to 5 job. This is part of my purpose on this earth.

I know that being a Christian means I should respond in my interactions through love. I try to ask myself how would God want me to love on this child. I try to ask God what the students need, academically, socially, or spiritually. I nurture their spiritual development based on my Christian worldview.
