It helps me extend compassion and grace to my student’s and families. We are all fallen and come from a broken world. None of us are deserving of God’s great glory but yet He gives us grace. We need to show this to our students in everything we do.

Mankind’s fall impacts the thoughts of us all however, we can continue to implement and teach the fruits of the spirit and memorize our weekly bible verses to help us maintain pure thoughts and good actions.

It helps me have more grace with the students and honestly helps me manage my anger and frustration when students are deliberately rude or act out. I realize that everyone, no matter how seemingly far from God, is deserving of grace and forgiveness.

I don’t know that it does because I have never considered this really. I do know that no one is perfect and that we all sin. I also know that I can lose my patients with students and get upset over their behaviors when I should realize they are just children and give them more grace. I also, however, understand the need for clear boundaries and set rules and work to quickly and simply set students back on track when necessary.

Because of the fall, we all sin and I see students needing to know that we all need to acknowledge our sin. I do have rules in my classroom and they do have to follow them but I make it clear that it is for the betterment of both the individual and the course as a whole. When they mess up there will be consequences but only because I care about them and their character and because God cares. Kids want to know where the boundaries are, it makes them feel cared for and they also can learn a great deal by seeing us make mistakes and apologising for those mistakes.
