Mankind’s fallen nature is just a fact of life. We are all sinners. It is how we come back from situations and how we react after we have done something wrong that matters. Using God’s word as a guide for how to recover when we sin is so important in my classroom setting.

Helps knowing that my students and I have a sin nature and that we are in need of a savior who graciously loves and us.

By understanding man’s fallen nature I am able to reflect on the importance of pointing all of my teaching back to the Bible, specifically the Gospel. It shows me how everything I say or do in the classroom should point back to the Bible and have my teaching infused with the Word of God.

I think one of the clearest ways to see the fall of mankind on full display is within a classroom full of sinful people! Every person, teacher or student, has fallen short of God’s glory. Every person has the same fundamental problem: sin. We also have the same universal solution: the person and work of Jesus. In working in our classrooms, we see sin on full display sometimes overtly and sometimes surreptitiously. We also have a unique opportunity to point of our students to the love of Christ and the truth of the Gospel.

As a Christian teacher, I believe understanding our fallen nature is crucial to my work in the classroom with my students. While every student has the potential for great things, we are all fallen and prone to sin. I can better relate and minister to my students when I acknowledge this Biblical truth. I can also help my students by emphasizing the importance of repentance, their need for a savior, faith, and living righteously. My understanding of our fallen nature is essential to achieving these goals.
