How does your understanding of the roots of the educational system in the US influence your view of education?

Understanding that our educational system was built on a biblical worldview opens my eyes to the importance of keeping that standard in place. I also see the steady decline as we move away from this model and the need for Christian education rooted in Biblical truth.

Knowing that the foundational aspects of education were based on Scripture continues to show me the importance of keeping them there! Our world is continually trying to separate God out of knowledge, but HE IS KNOWLEDGE. Character traits cannot come out of thin air… there must be a foundation to them. This is why Scripture is so needed as the base for all we teach in the Christian schools to continue what was originally taught.

I can see more clearly the changing of emphasis in education has changed with the culture of the US over the decades.

I enjoy studying our Christian heritage. I went to public school, so much of my study of our Christian heritage has been as an adult. A Biblical worldview is very important in today’s society.
