How has your denominational or theological background shaped your understanding of calling?

Yes, but I guess I felt call but not always followed thru as I should have

It wasn’t until much later in life that I caught a glimpse of what a calling might be. It has been a deep disappointment to not be “qualified” as I previously understood qualification for ministry.

My understanding of calling is deeply rooted in my Evangelical denominational believes becuase it has to do with what is calling me to do with the life He gave me.

I don’t know how to answer this question readily. I am Baptist. I have been saved for over 30 years – and have attended 3 (including current) – my present church is giving more insight into the Bible scriptures than ever before. After speaking with my Pastor, he gave me insight into his calling and what to expect, plus the spiritual mentors in my life right now – this shaped my understanding of Christianity better than in the past.

I attend a non-denomination church and have for many years. I am sure I have heard various teachings on calling but I am not sure that I have one solid understanding of it. I understand calling as what God has designed you to do for His Kingdom.
