To be honest I do not know. I spent 20 yrs. in one church playing guitar and loved it. So, I guess if I’m going to say what my calling is -for now I’ll say it would be in the music the ministry. Thats after being in the U.S. Navy Seabee’s 20 yrs. Maybe I can show people on the to mop (swab) a floor.

I think I confused Gifts with Calling. I have dreams of stand on the rock at the small park in town and preaching, i could never see the audience, but i would preach all the same.
I think the most confusing part for me is in 1 Timothy 2:12, so maybe my “calling” is not so much preaching but,… support group, councilor ?? IDK -
I have a varied denomination background, so I think my view and understanding of calling continues to expand. Initially I thought it was just limited to special people, but now I see it more inclusive of the makeup of Christ’s entire Body of people.

my understanding has shifted over the years. As a young person in the pentecostal church, calling was full time ministry as a pastor. Now I understand calling as God’s invitation to any type of work – as a ministry opportunity

I always thought calling or purpose entailed doing something grand like missionary work in another country. Or like the late Mother Teresa who served the poor in India. Or evangelizing like Joyce Meyer and others. Now I understand someone’s calling can simply be taking care of an elderly parent or helping others in need once you have the means to do so. A calling may be so small that only God can see it.
