When I was younger I would fast in prayer for growth and maturity in my faith. Now that I have many medical issues, I fast the use of media in order to spend time with God. I am going to try certain foods, and am hoping to be able to fast a lunch in the future.

Yes, but not the effective way. I did not have the knowledge that I have now. I will be doing it soon.
