Infusing is synonymous with integration as we want our curriculum totally absorbed with a biblical worldview.

The Bible, God’s Word, is to be so infused in our teaching that it cannot be separated out or “segregated”. It has to be completely wound in and through our teaching of every subject in such a natural and purposeful way that students see God in all we are doing and learning.

Instead of integration, it is biblical infusion. Where our teaching, curriculum, everything is infused with who God is and his word. Where students can feel and know God through every lesson we teach and through every interaction we have with them. Students will be able to get to know God through all their senses, see, hear, smell, touch, maybe even through their heart too.

I do love the 2nd definition of infuse from Oxford Languages. It is to soak in to extract from something else. Like a tea bag in a glass of water and water is changed into something else from that which is soaked in. We are the water and the tea back is the Holy Spirit that comes in and changes us into something new. The color and flavor and the composition of the water is changed by the parts of the tea bag soaking itself into the water. We are also changed by the soaking; the parts of spiritual discipline. As teachers, we need to provide and allow the soaking of deep learning to happen so that the realization of God being actively involved in each and every aspect of our lives, this world and our learning comes to the forefront

The word “infuse” relates to biblical integration in the way that God’s word is the main purpose and that we carefully seek his word in all that we teach and do. It is not separated but is together in one strong foundation dictation of who we are as Christian and Christian educators.
