Infuse relates to biblical integration because everything we do with our students inside and outside of our classrooms should be so thoroughly mixed with Scripture and God’s presence that it cannot be separated from the content being taught and material learned. They blend together seamlessly and support each other.

Lowrie suggests that teaching should be so embedded and immersed with the Bible that it is inseparable and therefore infused. It reminds me of Erdvig’s work with biblical immersion.

I loved this example. I think of how some of the things I drink are infused with other things. They are filled with them in a way that can’t be removed. In the same way, the Bible should be such a part of our teaching that it can’t be removed.

Biblical integration involves creating and recognizing opportunities to connect and infuse the curriculum with God’s view of the subject matter.

I really like the additional term used, “inseparable.” This really explained just how infused fits into what I teach. I want to have God in the center of all I teach and pass on to my students, no matter what school setting I am in, no matter how point blank I can or cannot be about God as being central.

Everything we plan for our students from lessons, to field trips, to activities, to outreach, to community service, all of it must be led by God. If God is not in, I don’t want to be part of it. God will lead us through each of these areas. He will provide the peace of knowing what to include in our curriculum for our students. We just have to ensure that we keep Him and His will for us as the central focus of all we do. It has to be about following Him over doing or teaching good. We teach good every day, but when God is not part of it, or has not led us to it, it does not and will not produce fruit in our students’ lives.
