I think that having standards is a good thing, however it is my job to teach the students how to learn. I don’t teach just to the test. Teaching to a test narrows minds. I try to teach in a way at encourages students to “explore” and learn.

I think it is important to have a standard or aim. Teach toward that aim using methods that ensure that the standard is covered. Students should be assessed fairly on that information.
