How might you use what you learned in this lesson in your school/classroom?

Maybe somehow to emphasize how knowing how to read is important, but also teach how to read and understand and be able to study the bible on your own. And it is interesting that it would be nice that all students have to take a set amount of Bible classes/units in order to graduate, but it is true that some students may transfer in, so that could be more difficult, like if a student transfers in senior year. Do we have to offer summer courses for them to make it up? Or just be happy to be able to accept them and allow them to learn some thing about the bible verses, if it 4 years of bible was required, then some families may be turned away by that.

It’s important for each unit, and lesson to have standards and aims to be able to narrow down exactly what you want to teach and achieve.

Standards are a guide to help us make sure our students are on track. They help to guide when students need extra support and scaffolding. How we present the information is very much up to us as teachers, but the standards allow us to know how to progress day to day.

By keeping in mind what elements in a curriculum that embody the beliefs of our Christan beliefs and goals.

I think standards are a good idea to gage student’s success and what they need to work on. I think in some schools and districts they can be a negative tool but when used efficiently it will help boost student success.
