How should we listen to a journeying reality, no matter how ugly it is (Galatians 4:19)?

We should listen with patience, kindness, and with an excitement for what God is doing.

With expectancy of what is going on underneath that and what He can do

With a heart like Paul that “is in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in them.” We need to continually see “the what can be.”

We should listen without judgement and with great grace. As they share their journeying reality they are laying out everything they have been holding on to in their hearts, possibly the pain of shame, or grief, abandonment or betrayal. We must listen with understanding and yet be excited because this ugly thing brought them to the place where the Holy Spirit can meet them and bring healing and a future with Christ.

As scripture reveals, we are to stand with our brothers and sisters ‘until Christ is formed’ in them. It is a blessing to see my brethren, male and female grow in Christ, fall deeper in love with the Lord right before my very eyes.
