It’s helpful to think about our calling for our time on earth and our responsibility to help students find their calling on earth. It serves as an important reminder to redeem the time and to walk in the good works that God has appointed for each of us.

We also have a calling here in heaven. Everything we prepare our children for from the way we educate, to what we educate with and every relationship we take the time to form now impacts each student’s eternity. It is often challenging enough to help students see their own worth, value and calling here on earth. It’s an even greater challenge to introduce the concept of having a calling in heaven. Both definitely need to be interwoven when we teach.

Although good understanding of the subject is important, I would be heartbroken if my students left my courses without ever having heard the gospel or how to have a close relationship with God. I definitely need to put more effort into weaving my lesson into God’s Word rather than weaving God’s Word into my lesson.
