How will the concepts discussed in this lesson impact your teaching?

One of the concepts mentioned here is something that I only recently came to a more fuller understanding about, and that is we don’t just have a calling here on earth. We also have a calling here in heaven. Everything we prepare our children for from the way we educate, to what we educate with and every relationship we take the time to form now impacts each student’s eternity. It is often challenging enough to help students see their own worth, value and calling here on earth. It’s an even greater challenge to introduce the concept of having a calling in heaven. Both definitely need to be interwoven when we teach.

I’m reminded to encourage the students to live fulfilled lives. Even though they are young, God still has a plan for them and I want to help them discover God’s calling

It has helped me to realize I need to put more of a focus on teaching redemptively rather than focusing so much on just getting through the subject. Although good understanding of the subject is important, I would be heartbroken if my students left my courses without ever having heard the gospel or how to have a close relationship with God. I definitely need to put more effort into weaving my lesson into God’s Word rather than weaving God’s Word into my lesson.

I need to place more emphasis on individual needs with regard to redemption.

We must invest our time here on earth wisely and as teachers, leading our students to Christ, to help them seek their calling. Secondly, recognizing that we too may need to have a moment of break and come back to God for His guidance under challenging times we have with the students.
