I would leave these three reasons in this order. They are all equally important to me. Have been in church most of my life. Went most to the mainstream religions and some non-christian. Through it all, had a great desire to read the bible. But know one to teach me how or where to start reading. The bible has not been my favorite book to read. When I do read, it is hard for me to get anything out of it. Now I want to learn to study on my own. The most important thing for me at this stage of life, is to know I am being taught the bible correctly. Want to get all I can out of it and grow in my walk.

I would have to prioritize the exact way they are listed. I believe that knowing and loving God is the most essential because without those, it is nearly impossible to accomplish the other two. All of these are important to me.

Knowing God is the point from which growing up in God and serving Him, take off from.
A knowledge of God will drive you to develop ourselves in Him and then increase our desires towards service in His name

I would order them in the same way listed “It is essential to knowing and loving God;” “It is essential for growing up in God;” and “It is essential to serving God” as it presents what I consider a natural progression. Knowing and loving God will fuel both growth and the ability to effectively serve Him.

My other reason for studying the Bible would be to able to acquire the tools to navigate a world dominated by man’s selfish desires at all levels, even among those who describe themselves as Christians.

Knowing and loving God is, I believe, essential to the other two. The more I know and understand Him the more I want to grow in my understanding and service to Him.
