How would you respond to someone who says that Jesus Christ was a wonderful teacher but nothing more?

My answer would vary depending on the context of the conversation and my relationship with the person. If this is a student, I would ask them to clarify what they mean and explain why they believe Jesus was a wonderful teacher but nothing more. I would point to the Bible and the verses where Jesus claims to be One with the Father and The Way, The Truth, and The Life (John 14:6).

I would want to know why the person said that. Then, I will show the person what the scripture says that who Jesus is. I will show proof of Jesus being the son of God using the Trinity,

I would ask them what helped them come to that conclusion, then explain how history has proved his existence then share the scriptures that point out who He is.

I would ask them why they think this way. I would then show them in the Bible who Jesus says he is. I would then give them examples from my life where Jesus showed up.

I would want to know what’s influencing their perspective. Then, I’ll spend a few minutes praying and engage them in a chat about the Trinity. Jesus Christ is God, the son, sent to experience the earth and offer us help with all the challenges that come with humanity.
