How would you respond to someone who says that Jesus Christ was a wonderful teacher but nothing more?

I would respond by giving examples and passages from the Bible that prove that statement to be only partially correct…He is much more for sure! I would remind them that He is the Creator by looking around and seeing all we have.

I would refer them to Scripture and C.S. Lewis’ classic argument: “Liar, Lunatic, or Lord.” Jesus very clearly claimed that He was God (John 8:58, John 10:30). Therefore:
“A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic—on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg—or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronising nonsense about his being a great human teacher” (Lewis, 1952, pp. 55-56).

I will let them know that he was a leader, he is my creator and the creator of all things. he die and he rise for us.

I would introduce them to the logic that Jesus was either a liar, a lunatic, or a Lord. I would explain that He can’t be anything other than the Lord if He existed, and according to non-Christian records, He existed.
