How would you respond to someone who says that Jesus Christ was a wonderful teacher but nothing more?

I would have to say read the Bible.

I would calmly listen and respond with loving kindness. I would point out how he meets the prophecies about the savior of the world. I would talk about all the miracles he did and all the scripture that he lived and quoted.

If someone told me they believed Jesus was a wonderful teacher, but nothing more, I would just calmly point out evidence of Him being the Son of God. For example, how can a man be both a wonderful teacher and tell such a huge lie (that He is the Son of God)? Jesus’ teachings were based on the fact that He is the Son of God, so how can His teachings be credible if they were based on a lie? What did Jesus gain, besides death, for claiming to be the Son of God? He lost his popularity, love of the people, and His life for that claim. Why would He stick to that claim if He were lying? I would simple engage in a conversation similar to this and challenge them to really think things through.
