How would you respond to someone who says that Jesus Christ was a wonderful teacher but nothing more?

Jesus Christ was and is not only a wonderful teacher, but the Son of God. He is part of the triune God head, and born of a virgin. He came fully God and fully man to pay the price for our sins by dying on a cross as our Savior, but He rose again and is preparing a place for us. He said of Himself, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father but by Me.” He wants us to choose to have a relationship with Him so we can spend eternity with Him in Heaven.

Explaining that Jesus Christ, is the Son of God and this was stated in the scriptures, “no man comes to the Father except by me” (John 14:6) , which challenges the notion of him just being merely a great teacher. Additionally, the historical evidence supporting his life, death, and resurrection underscores that his teachings are rooted in his divine identity and purpose as our Savior.

I’d explain that while Jesus was an exceptional teacher, He is also the Son of God and Savior, whose teachings and sacrifice offer salvation and a relationship with God, making His significance far greater than just His role as a teacher.

I would show them via via scripture and via my personal testimony of Jesus more than a wonderful teacher.
