Allowing the students to ask questions and to use critical thinking will help prepare them.

Fiction is a useful tool for examining struggles common to human beings. As students identify the solutions posed by authors, it’s imperative to direct them to scripture to find what God says about how to handle challenges.

Be honest, encourage the pursuit of truth and exhort them to have integrity and honour. Biblical integration helps students see the practical, embraceable side of the Word as well as their hope. It isn’t afar off, it is right here and right now, just ask Jesus and He will answer, but be prepared because the answers don’t always come the way we expect. The students should know how to use a concordance, to search out the Word and understand how it applies. Creation Ministries International, Answers In Genesis, and the Institute for Creation Research are phenomenal tools no matter what country one is in and being able to show students where to find reliable tools for research and for apologetics is so helpful.

Speak truth into their lives. Help them to use critical thinking and tact.

One way is to lean into conversations about difficult topics when they come up, help students think about them critically, discuss them and search the Bible for what God has to say about these struggles and topics.
