I think being honest with them is key. I was fortunate to have older men in my life who were very honest about the difficulty of “real world” adulthood. I want to do the same thing for my students: prepare them with realistic expectations about what life is like and what will be required of them to live well.

I can prepare my students for the struggles they will face in this world by sharing my own experiences. The more believers who pour truth into their lives, the more prepared they will be. Concepts are one thing, but true experiences leave an impression on students that will last.

As Christian teachers we could use scripture to explain about struggles in the world and how to deal with them we they happen. Also, sharing my personal story to help them understand that struggles happen to everyone.

Educating students about struggles of this world can be addressed by using my personal examples, current events and connecting these situations to the word of God and how to make the right decisions and/or to overcome the situation.
