Share my story. My struggles as a Christian – growing up in a secular world. Relating to them. Listen to them. Understand that their struggles are different than mine in some ways but not all. Help them feel confident that they are walking the right path and empower them to stand firm in their faith.

    Know and own their faith.

Grow in the grace of the gift of their salvation, allow for communion with the Holy Spirit, pray unceasingly with prayers and petitions, study the Scriptures in order to gain wisdom with understanding, and continue to have loving fellowship with the body of Christ.

The main way to prepare students to be strong in their faith in a fallen world is surround them in a strong foundation in Christ. When they have the strong foundation in Christ, then they should be given service missions to help the community. This can expose them to ways the world has struggled and people who need Jesus in a context that is of the world but not in it. Students should be given a chance to reflect on how Jesus helped all the people he met but he did not become part of the secular world but stood in opposition, shining His truth to everyone.

Students in today’s world are no stranger to the struggles of the world. The amount of broken families and the easy access to the scope of evil things available on the internet have created a culture that is well acquainted with suffering. The best way to prepare students for worldly struggles is by teaching them to put on the full armor of God. If they have a faith that is there own and truly have received the Holy Spirit, He will guide them and bring to mind the Scriptures and principles that I have been faithful to share with them.

I think two ways that I can help prepare students for the real world is to teach them to always go to scripture and prayer. Also, as Christians, it’s so important that we have fellowship with one another so we can encourage each other when times are difficult. I think it’s also important to share when I have had struggles in the world and how God protected me, provided for me and equipped me to handle the situation. As Christian educators, we need to teach our children that while there are difficult times ahead, God has overcome the world and he has provided a path for us to follow through the Lord Jesus Christ.
