Another way is to share with them my faith journey and the struggles I have faced along the way. This can help them see that even adults have struggles and don’t always have it all together. I can share with them how I, with God’s help, overcame those struggles.

I grew up in a Christian School bubble and it was a huge shock going to a public college because I never felt my thoughts and beliefs be challenged before college. I want my students to have a strong faith in Christ and to truly know what they believe. Through my own experiences, I want to make sure my students know to learn from my struggles so they can walk into the world with knowledge they didn’t have to learn the hard way.

While you are having a bad day, the Devourer is still seaking whom he may have for lunch. We are human and letting our guard down for a moment, could cause us to sink, like Peter did walking on water to Christ. He is our Redeemer and our buckler and shield, but we also have to be active armor wearers, using the gifts our Savior bestowed upon us. Using the Sword and Armor regularly will aide us immensely to navigate these dark days and minister to the lost and dying. He is our only true Hope.
