I will begin to eat lunch with my students occasionally, and I will provide more space for remediation.

I could read more scripture to them.

I do set aside the first moments of course to connect, but during my wrap up, it would be great to implement a parting few questions or words of encouragement about after school activities or what they’ve planned for the evening. Also, I need to work on having all my materials organized. I have everything ready, but sometimes, not queued up on my SmartBoard, or posted online in advance. I find myself doing some of that either as the students are working, or at the end of course, since changes have to be made to the HW or schedule of writing processes.

I hold high expectations for my students with regards to their academic output. Sometimes I feel that their parents enable them to just give up or to hand in sub-par work. I will continue to encourage my students to meet the expectations I have for them, as I have seen this produce excellent work from some students who previously thought they were not capable of excellence.

I would like to give students more opportunities to develop their talents and gifts. I would like to work together with other teachers, parents and students to identify their gifts and find resources to unleash their potential.
I will also like to hold regular prayer meetings with my course -potentially once a month- to be able to pray with them and for them about everything.
