One thing I thought of that I could do to nurture my students is offer a Bible study during lunch maybe once a week. This would be a great opportunity to disciple students in the word out of an academic Bible course setting.

I like the idea of adding a few challenging extra credit questions that allow the students to make a 110 grade. Also, I had not thought about being prepared each day as a nurturing technique. To me, being prepared is part of the job. However, I could see how a disorganized teacher portrays or gives off the idea of not caring for the students. “She doesn’t care about me so much that she does not even get ready for course each day.”

I already greet students at the door and bid a fond adieu, but I could be a better time manager and not run up to the bell. It might be a good idea to have a student give me a two minute warning. (Someone who is already a clock watcher) I also would like to be more efficient with time.
As for other ways to nurture, I am very accessible for lesson and homework help. I would like to spend more time inquiring about their lives and remembering more details about them. Often they are overextended and I could be more understanding. -
One practice I could implement to further nurture my students is by welcoming all of them when they come into the classroom. There are instances where I have to set up something and subsequently miss welcoming a few students and asking them how their days have been. Therefore, it would be wise for me to be as prepared as I can be the day prior so that I can welcome my students into the classroom the following day.

One practice I could implement to further nurture my students is have more course discussions. Students can express their opinions, experiences and feelings. I have noticed that students get to know each other better when we have discussions.
