I want to audibly encourage my students more and let them know when they are doing a good job. Also, when they are struggling, I want to get to know them more and ask why they may be struggling.

As mentioned in the lecture, I should be deliberate in reaching out to each student to ask about their interests. To ask the student who is in the robotics club about the meetings and competitions. I need to recognize all talents and all students.

One thing that I could implement is having the student tell me how they could have done things differently and what would have been the consequence of that decision. That would let me know if they understood how to handle it next time.

You can greet your students each day with enthusiasm. Provide students with time to share happenings, events, or items with you. You can also take the time on occasion to share something that is important to you. Or you can take time to talk about differences within the classroom.
