I could give students with repeated bad behavior fewer chances to correct themselves to alleviate stress on those with good behavior.

What came to mind during Dr. Black’s lecture was that I could be better ablout making myself available to my 5th grade students. There are opportunities during lunch, as well as recess time for me to just show up and be available to whomever might have a questions. I could also ask the questions to see how they are getting along with a particular subject. This connection time would also help me further know my students, and their uniueness/gifting and nurture them on their journey both academically and spiritually.

I started asking fun questions at the beginning of class to get to know them better – I will continue that. I would also like to do some community building or prayer time at the end of class.

I would like to carve out the time at the end of the day to reflect with elementary students. I like how she discussed taking that time to greet them in the morning and reflect at the end of the day.
