Teaching scripture will help students to be able to come back to God’s word to defend their faith. Asking and discussing big questions in the classroom will help students to answer big questions in the real world and stand firm in their faith.

One way that I can help prepare my students for attacks on their Christian faith is to live out MY own faith in an authentic manner and be more concerned with pleasing the Lord in my own walk than pleasing man.

Bringing in current events in the form of newspaper or articles, reading them together as a class, and applying what we know the Bible says and discussing it is a really good idea. Not only does this help prevent culture shock when students enter the “real world”, but it teaches them to discern and measure everything against God’s word.

First, teach them to be well grounded in scripture.
Second, teach them to not be pleasers of men; to be kingdom minded.
Third, teach them what the world is doing and why it is wrong.

If we provide a safe place for students to ask about and talk through those things happening around them, we will help them with those attacks on their faith.
