I can prepare my students by having them read scripture daily and model how we go to scripture when we have hard questions.

I can prepare my students for attacks by helping them be able to respond with truth and wisdom. I can help them by teaching them what God’s word says and making them aware of the lies the enemy will speak against them.

I make sure the students are comfortable in their knowledge of the bible and able to defend themselves

I think it’s very important to encourage open classroom discussions about current events that come up in the news when our Christian faith is under attack. Ask them to identify the falsehoods and to understand what God’s word says about the particular new topic. We are living in a world where good is called evil and evil is called good so it’s imperative that scripture is used in the instruction of our students so they can go to God’s word to help understand the lies that are being spread. A possible homework assignment would be to go and research the news for the events of the day and find an article that is an example of our Christian faith being attacked. They could write a one page paper and be prepared to share their news story with the students in small group discussion time.

Giving examples of how the world has attacked me. I tell them God brought me here to this very moment, to speak to you, to help you in your journey. I address pitfalls and encourage critical thinking. I encourage keeping God first in all decisions, knowing the world hates Christ and by default will hate you when you speak up. True believers battle the forces of wickedness in heavenly places.
