Apologetic approach is great. It teaches them what they believe so that when their beliefs are under attack they can confidently explain the position that they have. If they are taught sound Biblical doctrine they can more easily identify false teaching. Teaching doctrine and apologetics are the two areas that I prefer to focus on. Hermenutics is valuable to them for properly interpreting Scripture. Often attacks may come by way of twisting Scripture. If they know how to interpret Scripture they can defend the Scriputure.

Disciple them to pray and refer back to Scripture.

Remind them to look at Jesus, not people.

The first thing is to educate them. They have to know what Spiritual warfare is and how and when to recognize the signs. Recognizing an attack and knowing when to put on the WHOLE Armor has to become the forefront of your Christian walk so that we don’t get side swiped by the enemy. An army that is constantly on guard is harder to attack, but an army that is sleeping on the job, makes an easy target. We have to wake students up to a world they can’t see.

I think preparing them for the possibility of attacks on their faith is important. Having them understand and have a scriptural defense is important. I think having them posed withe specific questions and having them answer them would be most helpful.

We discuss current events, and integrate a biblical worldview and a healthy balance with being driven by our faith, but not succumbing to something as destructive as Christian nationalism. We also look at historical events and look at what the role of the church (or should have been) at that time.
