One way in which we could prepare our students for attacks on their faith is by providing them the opportunity to come up with questions pertaining to current events and allow scripture-based discussions about the question/ topic.

It is very important that we all are prepared for attacks on our Christian faith. There are so many people out there wanting to remove the Christian teachings of Jesus just because they don’t believe. Two ways that I can help prepare my students for this type of attack are setting the example through my own life and also daily teachings on why faith is important and how it can benefit our daily lives. Jesus told us that there would be people who will try to come against us but he also said that we don’t have to be discouraged because He has already overcame these issues. If we believe in Jesus, we know that we don’t have to fear when the attacks appear.

One way to prepare students for future attacks on their faith is to read them stories of Christians who have gone before them who have experience and endured attacks. Knowing the worth of Christ and faith in Him no matter what, even to the point of death is important for students to know and remember. Helping students prepare by letting them bring in real questions and concerns they may have heard of or faced themselves and discussing how to respond to those verbal attacks as a course can help all students to consider ahead of time what to do and say. Finally, looking at how Christ responded to attacks on his character and his message gives us instruction and encouragement as both teachers and students to follow his example and to respond in love and wisdom.

One way to help prepare my students for attacks on their Christian faith is to remind them through scripture that the world is sinful (Romans 3:16, 1John 2:15-17) and that God foreknew that these attacks would be happening (John 16:33) so that Christ has a triumphant return conquering all evil. (Rev. 19: 11-21). Another way I would like to help my students to better explain their faith against the worldview is to use worldly texts to point out how their faith is being attacked and teach them how to biblically respond to it.
