I share with my students that I did not grow up in church and that when I accepted Jesus, I needed to find evidence to show Christianit (Jesus/the Resurreciton) is true and not just a nice story. It’s good for them to know that when they have questions about the Christian faith (not all students at my school have Christian homes), that they are welcome to ask because there are answers.

One way to prepare students for attacks on their Christian faith is by familiarizing them with the scriptures. This will strengthen them and provide answers to certain questions. Another way is to connect everything back to a Biblical viewpoint. Even math can be connected back to Biblical viewpoint by showing God’s organization.

One way I prepare students for attacks on their Christian faith is to help them become grounded in the Word of God. The more familiar they are with the Word of God the easier it will be for them to recognize a lie when they hear one. It is like those who study the real $100 bill so that when they see a counterfeit bill they immediately recognize it as fake.

Another way I help prepare students is presenting them with some of the arguments they are going to hear from the secular world and then helping them work through how they would answer that argument and how they would defend their Christian faith. 1 Peter 3:15 tells us to always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for hope that is within you.

The first thing I would do is have different discussion during “Discussion Friday” and find in the scripture what the Lord says about those specific topics. Once we find what the Lord says and commands in His word, then we would discuss solutions.

One way I can help prepare my students for attacks on their Christian faith is by simply teaching them what the Bible says concerning spiritual warfare in this world. The apostle Peter reminds us, “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.” Furthermore, the apostle John clearly says, “Do not be surprised, brothers, that the world hates you” (1 John 3:13). I need to help my students, who have trusted in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, see that there will be attacks on their Christian faith. Nevertheless, I can encourage them to see that they can “take heart” because Jesus has “overcome the world” (John 16:33).
