Identify one or two ways you can help prepare your students for attacks on their Christian faith.

It is essential to help build a foundation for students in what they believe and why they believe . It is good to bring to light the world’s attacks on Christianity so your students can defend their faith.

As a teacher, I must equip my students with the knowledge and tools they need to defend their Christian faith. I can prepare them for attacks on their beliefs in a few ways.
Firstly, I can share what the Scripture says; See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ (Colossians 2:8), as mentioned in the lecture so that they know to expect such attacks. I can also guide them through processing activities in course to help them understand the foundation of their faith and recognize when someone is misrepresenting Scripture.
Sharing Scripture and providing students opportunities to engage in thoughtful discussions about their beliefs will give them practice in articulating what they believe and why, hearing other perspectives, and learning how to respond respectfully and constructively. My goal is to help my students feel confident and equipped to stand firm in their faith, even when faced with opposition or criticism.

We can expose the students to opposing world views and discuss wht they are wrong and how to respond.l

I teach a social development course where we discuss some of the hot topics of the day, LGBTQ, social media and bullying, etc. and allow students to reflect on the biblical view towards these topics. Our school also allows teachers to present special workshops to the students and mine was “Defend Yourself and Defend Your Beliefs”. The girls in this workshop learned self-defense along side learning about apologetics and how to respond to questions from others about their beliefs.

1) Study God’s word with meditation
2) Role play different worldview scenarios
3) Discuss discernment
4) Remain rooted in Jesus, both in knowledge and in practice. That way, growth will occur and protection from false teachers will be provided.
