Identify one or two ways you can help prepare your students for attacks on their Christian faith.

Scripture, scripture, scripture. I know that they don’t always love memorization, but the Word does not return void. Know the Word, write it on the tablet of your heart! The truths are so important as they live out their daily lives.

I try to remind students that Christ directed us to take up our cross and follow Him. This can mean that trial, temptations, tribulation and persecutions may come. It is not an easy thing but Christ has given us the power to do what He has called us to accomplish.

We can discuss current issues that are age-appropriate from a biblical standpoint. As I stated in the previous question, when the students know and understand the word of God, they can rightly discern between soul and spirit. “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12

Look at times in scripture when this happened.

One way to help students prepare for attacks on their faith is by having them listen to popular attacks and practicing ways to respond. This can be done via a course debate, essay, etc. Students can also read articles opposing their faith and create a rebuttal. You must be careful to lay foundation before doing this.
