Our students can be prepared for attacks by being immersed in the Word which causes their faith to be grounded. Another way to prepare them is to discuss the various arguments that they will encounter.

First, help them understand that drowning victims often want to pull their rescuers down with them. Just as a life guard would not take it personally, so we need to understand that people who don’t know Christ are spiritually drowning. Second, we need to help them hide God’s word in our their and our hearts. Finally, we need to help them understand that a Christian and biblical worldview is often in opposition to the many philosophies and worldviews of non-Christians.

The first way to prepare students is to let them know that the attacks will come. It is important that they are not surprised. They should be exposed to secular views and Christian arguments to them.
I also personally immerse my students in modern apologists like John Lennox. This gives them reference material for later.
Finally, they have to see that Scripture is our plum line.

I will tell them that they should remember what Jesus said in John 17:16 ”we are in the world but not of the world’ so, they should be ready for people will attack this gospel truth we have.

I often have discussions in my Bible courses about news articles and world view points that contradict the truth of Scripture. We have had very good discussions this past year about identity, homosexuality, and abortion. We work through what the Bible teaches, what the world teaches, and how Christians can respond in a way where we are not compromising the truth of the Gospel but still approach those that disagree in a way where the love of Christ is demonstrated.
