We have to prepare them and help them identify deception. Arm them with scripture and the knowledge of the Bible to guide them.

Prepare them with scripture and examples for ways to peacefully verbalize their defense.

Understanding the Bible is the best way to prepare students for attacks against the christian faith. Also understanding how we know the Bible is true can really help them.

Ensuring that they have the tools necessary to defend the faith. 1 Peter 3:15 is perhaps my favorite verse, because it reminds us to be able at all times to provide a defense, but not to do this with disrespect. Sometimes, on the other side of the spectrum, we encounter scholars who are so passionate that they argue from a place of anger and do more harm when evangelizing.

I can prepare my students to respond to attacks with love. All like sheep have gone astray and those who attack the Christian faith are sheep that have gone astray, like I was. It is important to have compassion on those who are attacking and love them in order to show them the way of Jesus. Arguing, belittling, and demonization has no place in a Christian response. God is not surprised at attacks and we should not fear attacks as they are inherent to our walk with Jesus.
