If God is the basis for morality, why is morality not arbitrary or changing?

Simply put, how could anyone patterns his/her life after a morality that is arbitrary and/or changing? If God were arbitrary or changing, there would be no such thing as Christian faith. Then it would become “faith in what?”

God is our Creator. He is just and Holy. These attributes reflect His character, and His righteousness. He stipulates what is right and what is wrong. He doesn’t change (Mal 3:6). He is the God who instructs us and teaches us in the way we should go (Ps 32:8). He has given us conscience to decide what’s good and what’s wrong according to Rom 2: 15

Because God is not in the habit of changing his mind, as is the argument here. God is steadfast in his articulation of morality.

This is because God is eternally good in His character. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). God does not change His mind about what is good; He does not call something good one day and call it evil the next day.

If morality were arbitrary or changing, the foundation that we stand on would be shifting sand and would change to accommodate the needs of people rather than people viewing it as the standard by which we live by.
