In 3 John we learned how to deal with someone teaching false doctrine. How do you respond to teachings that contradict Scripture?

If I come across a teaching that I believe contradicts scripture, then I will use the Bible to confirm whether the teaching is indeed false doctrine. The Bible is the ultimate guide and reference. The Bible will either confirm or reject teachings based on scripture. All scripture from the Bible is sound and true because it comes from God himself. If I come across a teaching that is not scripturally sound, then I will not apply it’s lessons to my life nor will I promote it to the world.

We must always scrutinize any message we hear with the word of God. We as humans are fallible. God is not. His word is truth. We also need to make sure that we are not taking verses out of context with the meaning of the scripture.

By first asking the Holy Spirit to give me the wisdom to confront that individual with true doctrine by quoting the Word.
