In 3 John we learned how to deal with someone teaching false doctrine. How do you respond to teachings that contradict Scripture?

We are taught to not believe the heretics. I try to question why those who are teaching contradictory things believe what they are teaching.

We should not believe any teachings that contradict Scripture. This means that we should be knowledgeable of Scripture so that we are able to, first, identify false teachings. Then, we must stand up against those false teachings and expose them. Most importantly, when we stand up to false teachings, we should do it in a loving way.

Speak the truth to them in love.

I disregard the parts of the message that condradict scripture.

Respond in love with scripture and use prayer.
