In 3 John we learned how to deal with someone teaching false doctrine. How do you respond to teachings that contradict Scripture?

You first have to know scripture to know if it is false teaching. I think the more time you spend in the word the better you will be at defending the false teachings.

I would deal with someone teaching that contradict scripture, by first trying to correct their teachings. Then I would try to show them in scripture what the word of God says. Finally, I would stay away from them if they continued to teach falsely.

It depends on who is the speaker. Outside of the Church, I try to lead them to the truth, but not forcefully. In the Church I follow scripture and try to talk to them privately, then as a group, then ask them to leave
