Show them the errors by showing them what the Bible actually teaches.

Well first of all I have to know the truth so that when false teaching comes along I can recognize it quickly. But I walk away or turn it off. I have done that with a popular tv preacher getting he was saying made sense until he made one comment. If I had not know the truth I would have believed the lie.

For teaching that contradict Scripture, we have to expose it and not let the teaching continue in the church. And to know which teaching contradicts the Scripture, we have to be familiar with the Scripture ourselves, in order to discern.

I have no problem in confronting someone who is teaching false doctrine in the church no matter the consequences. I’ll stand for Christ and Christ alone. I’ve had that experience before.

Discernment: speaking the truth in love to gently corrrect those being led astray by false teachings — and disseminated by false teachers — yet Spirit guided, for those who are truly seeking. The internet age is rife with swine of the enemy that are nothing but ploys for argument. One must be careful to rely of the Holy Spirit so as not to cast “…Pearls before swine” (Matthew 7:6).
